Last Thursday saw Lo-Fi's last show and the gallery space's transformation into an explosion of color, illustration and straight up style courtesy of 'Ladies Of The Letterform', The mind blowing exhibition of new works from Sofles, who could possibly be described as one of the worlds most recognized and talented graffiti artists.
To see his works face to face shed light on the fact that the countless pieces we had seen on the internet didn't even come close to doing the detail in them justice!
We managed to grab Sofles for a couple of quick questions in between drinks;
Would you prefer a gallery or platform full of people viewing your work ? Platform, definitely.
If you had the power to freeze time for 5 minutes what would you do? Rob a bank, if I had an extra few minutes Miranda Kerr.
What is your favorite implement? It would be the spray can I think. I really like illustration and doing as much different shit as i can like using brushed or fire extinguishers or whatever the fuck I can use, but probably the spray can. I've never found anything that has the same effect or the ability of that one thing.
If you could hang your work in anyone's house whose would it be? One of the local Brizzy politicians, like Campbell Newman who hates. Or the cop who busted me.
What is the worst thing you have woken up to? Getting raided. It went from being the best thing to the worst thing. I woke up and my girlfriends like "your gonna get breakfast in bed!" I'm like "Yeah!! breakfast in bed!" She goes out to cook the shit next thing I hear is *BANG BANG BANG* and that was the cops. So my perfect morning went to my worst nightmare.
Best way to cure a hangover? Not getting raided.
What would be your ideal summer? Next summer I want to be in south America. Hopefully this summer I'll chill out in Brizzy and go to Byron Bay, Theres alot of areas around there that are perfect. Just chilling on the beach not doing anything at all, I'll be happy.

"John Nolan animatronics designer and director at Streetlight Films UK, whose credits include Where the Wild Things Are, Harry Potter, Clash Of The Titans, Hellboy 2, Warhorse, Brothers Grimm, Dr Who and Being Human, created an incredible UNKLE robot based on Futura’s Pointmen from the Psyence Ficton and Never Never Land albums.
The robot itself formed part of the 'Daydreaming with ...James Lavelle' exhibition along with an accompanying video sound-tracked to the instrumental re-working of ‘The Runaway’ (Lupe’s Revenge). The original track appears on UNKLE’s most recent album ‘Where Did The Night Fall’ with its vocal driven hip-hop counterpart featuring on The Answer EP.
Its splintered synths and a shuddering bass-line create an aggression and energy which Nolan harnessed within the robot’s marching stomp towards the camera."
"According to dashperiod, the masterpiece is the work of a disgruntled employee, fired by Harrods from his job as the toy department’s Father Christmas. The website claims that he “took revenge last night in spectacular style.” The employee is reported to have displayed his message by “gaining access to a maintenance control room.” Lloyd Hudson, 35 from Ilford, Essex, was able to locate the chart and corresponding switches for Harrods 10,000 external light and played havoc with the festive decorations, according to dashperiod. Reports have revealed that the Father Christmas impersonator “had drunk the best part of two bottles of whiskey” and took part in a standoff with security guard and police for an hour and a half. Apparently it is his drunken behaviour that got him fired in the first place, according to a spokesperson from the prestigious store. Dashperiod reported Knightsbridge visitors were stunned, quoting one woman as saying, “I was with my grandchildren. We had just gotten off the bus. I said ‘look everybody’ and pointed up to the lights – but you know what the lights said? They said f**k off. And that is not an appropriate message for a child. At least not at Christmas time.”

This production is absolutely mind blowing, Words cannot describe the finished product so watch for yourself!
Mad C explains: "Here we are, the wall is done! Even though I decided to paint a little further still - I just finished it before the snow set in. The wall was originally planned to end at the set of windows since those are difficult to involve and the surface of the wall became pretty bad from thereon too. However, I decided to extend my theme in places and take the challenge to paint until the very end of the wall. Now it is about 680m2 of wall space. Finally, the picture is complete and I hope the story sums up. My Stylemachine-idea was based on the life of a dedicated graffiti writer. It's a wall for all of us who paint 10+ years and who put all their energy and heart into it.
That's how I translated the idea: Scene one - the laboratory - we sketch, we try, we are inspired, no matter under which circumstances, lack of time or interruption
Scene two & three - the machine and harbour - we select sketches and produce our ideas, try techniques, style- and colour-variations and get them out into the world
Scene four - the difficult journey - a lot of our work gets destroyed f.e. by the buff, toys or by the nature, so we have to keep on doing our thing no matter what
Scene five - the city - you keep on sending your name into the world, so at the end of the day some of your pieces reach their destination, where they belong and where they are seen.
And for those out there who like numbers a lot: some days I went up and down the ladder more than 500 times; fell off the ladder 4 times; counted in days I painted more than 4 months every day at least 10 hours; I used 1489 cans; 158 different colours; 600+ caps; 3 different kind of caps, 100 liters primer; 140 liters exterior paint; painted at temperatures from +2C° to +38C° in sunshine, rain, storm, day and night; painted my biggest and smallest piece so far and overall painted my name far more than 100 times on this wall. I'm curious if anyone will guess or find out how many there actually are. I made only one exception from solely painting MadC pieces on this wall. Special place in my heart - special place on my wall.
And last but not least - a massive thanks to everyone who supported me throughout the year, Molotow above all of course."

Incase the rock you've been living under is without internet then you may not who or what Wikileaks is and all the trouble they have been getting the governments of the world into. Wikipedia describes Wikileaks as
"an international new media non-profit organisation that publishes submissions of otherwise unavailable documents from anonymous news sources and news leaks. Its website, launched in 2006, is run by The Sunshine Press.[4] Within a year of its launch, the site claimed a database that had grown to more than 1.2 million documents.[8] The organisation has described itself as having been founded by Chinese dissidents, as well as journalists, mathematicians, and start-up company technologists from the United States, Taiwan, Europe, Australia, and South Africa.[4] Julian Assange, an Australian Internet activist, is generally described as its director.[9]"
This 4 part documentary addresses a few of the questions anybody with even a remote interest in global politics would be asking about the organisation; Where is the secretive organization heading? Stronger than ever, or broken by the US? Who is Assange: champion of freedom, spy or rapist? What are his objectives? What are the consequences for the internet?
